“The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.” (Ps 103:19 KJV)

A. Background
The word kingdom reveals that there is a king, a domain and subjects. The Lord Jesus is the King and we are His subjects. He is the personification of the message of the kingdom, and the message is, believe the good news, repent, and be converted (Mk 1:14-15). After conversion, it is expected that we put the message and its power to work by allowing the written word of God to become the living word from God that bears fruits of increase as we practice and live it. The message is designed to produce fruits of changed lives (Ps 126:5-6). The seed of the message is precious, and is sown in tears. When it’s borne in brokenness before the throne of grace, it bears fruits. Therefore, seek to share the gospel aggressively in 2015.
As you do, first you must know Jesus our king, sits upon a throne and His throne is prepared to rule over all (Ps 103:19). You must come to that throne of grace to obtain mercy, and find grace to help (Heb 4:16). Secondly, in Ps 2:4-6 we read that He sits in heaven v4, and the king (or his throne) is also set on Mount Zion – the place of prayer and deliverance. Why is this important? Without the power of prayer you cannot engage the king and the power behind His throne. You must understand the potency of the throne to seek it, and enjoy its benefits. When you seek the throne:
iii) Wait to hear – “Come up hither…” (Rev 4:1)
(Rev 4:2)
The throne is always set for the one who approaches it in the spirit. It is both set in the heaven (Ps 2:4) and on Mt. Zion the place of prayer (Ps 2:6). The throne (power) and prayer (spiritual strength) are inseparable (Ps 2:4, & 6). David in the same way set the Lord on the throne before him as we read in Ps 16:8, and he was not moved.
B. The significance of the throne
The throne is set so that the supplicant may receive justice from He that sits on the throne! Answer to prayer comes from the throne “And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices…” v5. Samuel cried on behalf of Israel and God thundered from heaven (1 Sam 7:7-13). In Revelation 4:1, we also see that seven spirits of the Lord referred to in Isaiah 11:1 – 3 come from the throne and these are wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear of the Lord and discretion.
The throne, the altar and the oil must be in place for effective prayer – because dead flies want to pollute your healing oil (Eccl 10:1). These you must vehemently resist. Without your altar (prayer) connecting with the throne (power); and without your oil (anointing) servicing your altar, you operate a useless or impotent altar. Let 2015 be a year of serious conformity to Kingdom practices in order to enjoy kingdom benefits.
We have no excuse not to connect with the oil, the altar and the throne. Why? Because God equipped us before heaven deployed us into the kingdom service. Notice, we are not employed, but deployed to work in the service of our King (Zech 4:6-10). The problem we face is simply lack of knowledge (Is 5:13, 14 -16; Ps 82:5). But we are counseled to gain knowledge and understanding (Prov. 4:7; Is 9:23-24; Jer. 3:15). The man that wander out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead (Prov. 21:16). Therefore, seek understanding.
C. What is dominion or what does it mean?
For us to be effective in the kingdom service He gave us dominion (Gen 1:26-28) Dominion means:
1) Ruler-ship (Rom 5:17; Eph 2:6)
2) Lordship (Power or Authority – Lk 9:1; 10:1, 19)
3) Caretaker-ship/Stewardship (Gen 2:15; Matt 25)
4) Ownership – (Ps 115:16)
May I say that we are not stewards, but owners with stewardship responsibility (Ps 115:16). Ownership mentality makes you look at things differently. You begin to exercise authority or dominion to watch over and keep what He has given you! Without ownership mentality, there can be no rage – and dominion cannot be inspired and exercised, therefore take ownership because revelation inspires revolution!
Because the kingdom is within you (in your midst or amongst you), everywhere you go, you carry in you the king, the culture and character of the kingdom (Lk 17:20-21)! When kingdom practices are deployed in power and wisdom things get better – mountains are made low and kingdom of darkness is silenced e.g. South Korea’s transformation testimony.
D. The resurrection restoration or impartation.
The Lord at resurrection did the following to restore the backslidden disciples, who strayed away from the kingdom assignment. He opened:
Therefore, be sober, vigilant, steadfast, and watch unto prayer so you do not stray away from kingdom purpose. Pray to use the kingdom power effectively – (1 Cor. 4:20). The kingdom is about power and that is why you received at salvation “..Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Cor. 1:24), without which you’d not have survived this evil world. Exercise that power to take command of your glorious destiny. Our God is JEHOVAH THE MAN OF WAR. Welcome to glorious 2015!
